Searching the Shore for Silence

$10.00

Composed by Bryan Scott Stanbridge.

Searching the Shore for Silence is a two-movement work for unaccompanied clarinet in B-flat.  An afternoon spent on the point of Metro Beach near Detroit, Michigan, served as an inspiration for the piece. Most people think of spending a summer afternoon swimming and lounging in the sun, but this work reflects another time of year--just after the winter holidays.

Look over the water toward Canada, which you cannot see, and be enveloped by the light-grey clouds and the softly rolling waters of Lake St. Clair. Imagine the stray water bird that remained to be witnessed by two people standing on a rock at the point. This is the feeling envoked by hearing Searching the Shore for Silence.
