Happy Holidays

December 24th, 2006

We here at Purple Frog Press wish all of you a very happy holiday—whatever that holiday may be.

We’re going to take a little break to visit with family and friends and will return after the new year with a number of new pieces (as you can see in the previews) and hopefully some new features on the web site that will make your shopping decisions easier.

As always, please give us any suggestions you can and we will gladly take them to heart.

The Best of PASIC 2006 Released

December 1st, 2006

Greetings all,

The Frog has released The Best of PASIC 2006. It’s available in the shop for purchase. It contains six original compositions all completed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Austin, Texas by myself and Robert McClure. There are two marimba solos, two tom-tom solos, a xylophone solo and a bongo solo. They’re all high-quality, short works that are a lot of fun to play.

Also: Congratulations to Greyson Boydstun, the winner of the 2006 Composition Contest at PASIC. He will be working with myself on creating a new solo for marimba to be completed in early 2007. Greyson is from Nevada and has competed with the Santa Clara Vanguard.

Purple Frog Composers Blogs

November 24th, 2006

Greetings all,

In the next few weeks, we will begin adding blog posts to the site. This will serve as a type of development blog, but for composing. The Purple Frog Press composers will be asked to add to this blog as they are able and talk about various aspects of their composing as they are able. Please check back here often (and feel free to log in and leave comments).

Cheers,

Bryan…
